This page has been set up to publish information on everything that is happening to do with medieval history in the small Welsh university town of Aberystwyth, U.K. The site’s main focus is the annual conference, organised by postgraduate students in the Department of History and Welsh History at Aberystwyth University, which takes place under the auspices of the Centre for Research in Historiography and Historical Culture (Aberystwyth) and the Institute of Medieval & Early Modern Studies (Aberystwyth & Bangor). As in the previous year the conference has been made possible thanks to funding from both the Graduate School and the Department of History and Welsh History at Aberystwyth University.
From 2020 the Aberystwyth Medievalist Conference will run in conjuction with its Early Modern equivalent, which will take place from the 29th-30th of June 2020. Please visit their website for more information about the Aberystwyth Early Modern Conference and how to apply.
