We are really excited that one of the keynote lectures of the #medievalaber conference will be given by Alheydis Plassmann. Alheydis is a historian of the Early Middle Ages working at the Universität Bonn in Germany. Her research focusses in particular on comparisons between German and English history of the Early Middle Ages, as well as particular communities, like the Staufer, Welf and Norman dynasties. She is currently engaged in a research project on power and rulership in a transcultural perspective, in which she contributes to the sub-project on English kingship and the criticism of rulers. Alheydis spent some time in Aberystwyth during her degree, so it will be great to have her back!
